The IP VPN service (Symmetrical Internet Interconnect) offers „any-to-any” data communication links among local networks. Communication between individual, regionally separate endpoints is ensured via the IP/MPLS based network, provided and managed by Magyar Telekom, whereby data are transmitted among endpoints as in a closed circuit, in complete security.

Customer Premises Equipment (CPE):

The IP VPN service can be implemented using a managed or non-managed service provider owned device..

In case of a managed CPE, all options described below can be provided to the customer. The service handover point is the LAN side Ethernet interface of the managed CPE.

In case of a non-managed CPE, the device is provided by Magyar Telekom and is installed at the service endpoint with a default configuration. The CPE hardware is operated by Magyar Telekom and managed by the Partner Provider. The service handover point is the customer side interface of the access section..

Available service options:


Using MPLS technology allows for prioritizing the transmission of various types of traffic, with the so called QoS (Quality of Service) option. The essence of the QoS option is that the bandwidth, available at the endpoints, is shared among pre-defined priority categories. By using this service, it can be ensured that there is always sufficient remaining bandwidth.

Back-up access

To achieve greater availability, the primary data communication link can be extended with an auxiliary access, implemented using various technologies, e.g.: optical, microwave, copper, ADSL and 4G mobile access. The backup access can be installed next to the primary line implemented on any technology. In case of primary line failure, the traffic is automatically rerouted to the secondary access path.

Quick implementation with mobile access

If implementing the service with fixed line access takes too much time, it is possible to establish the service using 4G mobile access, within a short deadline.
