20/06/2015, Balatonfüred: there takes place the next
round of FINA Open Marathon Swimming World Cup, followed by the Day of
Hungarian Swimming. Telekom will be present at the spot as technical sponsor
and an enthusiastic fan.
It’s not the first time Balatonfüred hosts a long-distance swimming event. European cups and a FINA World Junior Open Water Swimming Championship were held here. This year’s championship serves also as a preparation for the world championship of 2017.
Open-water swimming events are characterised by long distances, meaning 5, 10, 25 kilometres at European cups, world cups and Olympic Games. It is a special challenge for the swimmers to keep the body warm only using creams; they cannot wear neoprene or diving suits. The track is signed by buoys; no cords are used to separate the competitors. The jury is responsible for keeping the swimmers apart, following them in boats.
The location of the competition is the shore in front of Tagore esplanade. There will be hundreds of fans to support the swimmers. We’ll also be present with our wifi service, offering also a cool marquee for fans with the possibility of mobile-charging and a foosball table. Swimmers, as all sportsmen, rely on their fans: join us in Balatonfüred!
